Speaker 1 00:00:02 Good morning. You're listening to the daily cat during morning news brief from WMUR news. I'm your host. HOSPA it's 9:00 AM central on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022. You are the headlines to start your day. Snow fell steadily all day yesterday, totaling almost seven inches in Evanston. Stay warm and be careful a slippery slope sidewalks. And you dissenters Northwestern's chapter of the national anti militarism organization. Dissenters published an op-ed in the daily with a list of demands for the university. The demands include that the university divest from groups, such as Boeing, a company that produces missiles, that certain individuals be removed from the board of trustees and that the university sever relationships with law enforcement groups, including, but not limited to ice and Chicago police, all Chicago employees were required to be fully vaccinated by Monday, but only 84% report. Having received two doses. This employee, these employees who have not reported full vaccination, faced the possibility of losing their paycheck on their job. Speaker 1 00:01:07 However, if mayor Lightfoot decides to suspend employees who have not reported full vaccination, the city could face a worker shortage yesterday. Governor Pritzker spoke about a potential budget for Illinois. His proposal includes suspension of or re rebates for tax on groceries, gasoline, and property in an effort to relieve consumers, critiques of the proposal include that relies too heavily on temporary federal and COVID-19 pandemic relief. The Biden team continues their search process for a new Supreme court justice following justice Briar's retirement announcement Biden vows to keep his campaign promise of nominating the first black woman to the U S Supreme court possible contenders include DC circuit.
