Speaker 0 00:00:01 Good morning and welcome to the daily cat w and URS daily news brief. I'm your host, Iris Swarthout with a few things you need to know today. It's 9:00 AM central on Friday, February 11, former democratic presidential candidate, Marianne Williamson visited campus on Thursday to advocate for spiritual change within the political arena. The event was hosted by Northwestern's political union and drew an audience of around 150 members. Williamson announced her support of congressional candidates who are progressive and non corporatist at Thursday's event and asked listeners to view politics through a metaphysical lens in attempting to solve the nation's problems applications for the city of Evanston's mayor's summer youth employment program opened Thursday. The program gives local teens preferably between the ages of 14 and 18 opportunities to explore careers and will take place on Saturday, March 12, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Evanston township high school. Speaker 0 00:01:16 Before the fair virtual workshops will also be held for those looking for additional job search support, president Biden urged Americans to leave Ukraine immediately on Thursday. Biden has decided not to send in troops to rescue Americans. If Russia does decide to invade as he did in Kabul, Afghanistan, back in August, following the Taliban's takeover. Instead, the white house is sending nearly 2000 troops to Poland to aid Americans in fleeing Ukraine. At this time 36, French migrants were saved on the shores of Francis north sea Thursday morning. The migrants attempted to cross the English channel in an inflatable raft, many individuals seeking asylum embark on this dangerous journey, which cost the lives of 27 migrants. Last November.
