Speaker 1 00:00:06 Good morning and welcome to the daily. I'm your host, Madison Brown. The things you need to know today, it's 9:00 AM on Tuesday, February 1st. It's the first Omicron sub variant case was detected in Illinois. Over the weekend, the virus was found in an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 on January 18. Many parts of the U S are seeing a decline in case numbers, but scientists say the BA two sub variant could slow the current decline founder and executive director of the garage. Melissa Kaufman will leave Northwestern in may. The garage helps student entrepreneurs develop their business. The program began six years ago, and since opening has served over 3000 students each year and helped 1000 startups to synagogues and Jewish businesses were damaged and suspected hate crimes. Over the weekend in the west Ridge neighborhood, the windows of two kosher food businesses were smashed. Us regulators are urging Pfizer to apply for emergency use authorization for its two dose COVID 19 vaccine for children's six months to five years old. The company's application is expected as soon as Tuesday, and then Biden administration aims to clear the way for the shot. As soon as late February, the vaccine has one 10th of strength of the adult shot.
